In 2005 Martin Brooks won the 750 Motor Club Championship for Road-Legal Bike-Engined Sportscars (RGB) in a Stuart Taylor Phoenix using Leda double adjustable dampers.

The works Phoenix driver won 7 races in 2005 proving that a well set up front engined car is more than a match for the increasingly popular mid-engined sportscars from the likes of Radical, Pell and T5 Developments. Indeed electrical gremlins stopped Brooks taking 3 more certain race wins in the year. There is no doubt that the latest mid engined cars from Radical, T5 have an advantage on the straights, however the Leda equipped Phoenix more than makes up for any disadvantage in the corners.

Having struggled with other damper suppliers all year, switching to Leda mid season led to an immediate improvement in performance and reliability, and Stuart Taylor is offering all its customers Leda dampers as a race upgrade in 2006.
