Well I had the TF coilover set fitted today and I have to say that despite the cost this is the best mod that I've done so far.

I turned up at about 9am at Leda where Martyn got to work on the car. To say that he was thorough is an understatement his work was of the highest standard. We needed to change the front spring ratings 3 times before we got it right and ended up with 350lb at the front and 550lbs at the back. We originaly started with 250lbs but the front bottomed out. 300Lbs was better but still felt like if it hit any holes it might bottom 350 was perfect! I've no idea what the OEM rates are?? We then set the damper settings at 10 which is near the middle of the 22 possible adjustments and what can I say this setup rocks big time!

The handling is in a different league altogether and the grip is phenomenal. No more bounce and the best part is I can now take a pot hole without any drama's whatsoever. This was always an area that left me less than inspired with the standard setup and I often drove with caution as I was concerned that I might hit something and take off. The Leda ride just takes all the potholes in its stride without any crashing sounds or worse. The ride is gorgeous!

I decieded to raise the ride height by a few mm's over the Xspring ride height as with that setup I've scrape the tow rings on a few occasions. I may have a fiddle with the damper settings at some point but for now it feels great.

Anyway, I know it was expensive but in comparison to my freinds little trip to the Porshe Showroom in Mayfair yesterday where his new S Boxster and upgrades came to over 50K I think todays little outlay was quite modest. Of course its not a Boxster but hey I'm happy.

The best part of all this for me is that I now feel that its worthwhile to go for a serious power hike as the car now feels like it could handle it.

Thanks to Bev et all!
